(Macao).- Macau’s casino industry generated gross gaming revenues of MOP$3.0 (US$374 million) in November – down 55.6% year-on-year and 23.1% lower than October, according to information from the Gaming Inspection and Coordination Bureau (DICJ).

The modest November result comes despite China’s National Immigration Administration resuming electronic applications, or eVisas, for travel from the mainland to Macau under the Individual Visit Scheme at the start of the month.
Analysts noted recently that the resumption of eVisas was providing little positive impact in the short-term due to the current pandemic situation across mainland China which is severely restricting travel.
According to the DICJ’s figures, the November GGR result was 23.1% lower than October, when GGR was MOP$3.90 billion (US$481.6 million) but 86.9% lower than November 2019 when Macau recorded GGR of MOP22.88 billion (US$2.85 billion).
For the first 11 months of 2022 combined, Macau’s GGR was MOP$38.7 billion (US$4.83 billion), down 50.9% on the same period in 2021.
